Great lovers of food, wine and design, a Dutch couple purchased this petite estate with its own vineyards, accommodation and extraordinary views in 2012 and turned it into a dream destination. Designer furniture and original art by a selection of South African artists features in all the rooms and around the lounge, bar and in the gardens.
With 7 rooms in the hotel and 6 villas on the estate, you have a number of options to select your perfect getaway from. Enjoy the views, the wine and the peaceful and quiet that surrounds you. Simonsberg makes the perfect backdrop to this world-class escape from the world.
Location
Clouds Estate sits on one of the highest points of the Helshoogte pass, surrounded by the dramatic Simonberg and Drankenstein mountains. Clouds is one hour from Cape Town, 20 minutes from Franschhoek and only 45 minutes from Cape Town International airport.
The region's mediterranean climate supports the cultivation of some of the world's best wines.
Accommodation
Upon arrival at Clouds Hotel & Villas, you’ll be escorted to your beautiful semi-detached villa or luxury room. A welcoming glass of Clouds wine will immediately acquaint you with South Africa's warm spirit.
The rooms and villas were designed to offer guests panoramic views of the landscape via floor-to-ceiling windows. All accommodation options feature designer furnishings, original South African art and top-of-the-range technology. Check-in time is from 14h00 and check-out time is 11h00.

Please note that international transfers will be charged a fee of up to R492 per transaction by our bank and will be for your own account.

Clouds is famous for its "Pink" Sauvignon Blanc. Its fruity aromas include kiwifruit and gooseberry flavours. The light yellow Sauvignon Blanc, with hints of granadilla, is a real crowd pleaser and the new Bordeaux style Red Blend, is equally enjoyable now but will mature beautifully over the next 5 years.
Clouds serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in the relaxed atmosphere of our restaurant and al-fresco when the weather permits it. Our hotel guests enjoy priority for restaurant bookings.
